Ed Eisler, a level 3 qigong instructor through the Supreme Science Qigong Center, recently became certified in Qigong Strength Training form. “Qigong is a five thousand year old energy & vitality building practice from China,” says Eisler. “Chinese warriors would often fight day & night for weeks, requiring them to be fatigue resistant, have faster explosive attacks, and quick healing.”

According to Eisler, this Qigong form starts with a good warm up, then faster repetitions of traditional exercises using short recovery time. “Hyper throws are next. They are martial arts movements where you move as quick as you can and then quickly relax. Standing warrior breaths are used to flood the body with qi. Then, horse and super horse stance - sitting as low as a chair but without a chair - for longer periods in a meditative state.” The form ends with Zen meditation.
